As former Toronto Chief of Police and 3rd Place 2023 Mayoral Candidate, Mark brings his wealth of knowledge regarding community safety, infrastructure, and politics to the board. He plays an important role in connecting with communities when new sites are being considered for the development of affordable housing projects.
Peter has over twenty five years of experience in design, development, municipal planning approvals, public policy, community engagement, media relations, and housing. He brings his immense insight to the board as the former Ontario Minister of Housing, a former Toronto City Councillor, and the former Chair of Planing and Growth at the City of Toronto.
Mwarigha was the General Manager of Peel Housing Corporation, Ontario’s third largest municipal affordable housing corporation. He is now the Vice President of Housing, Homelessness, Asset Sustainability & New Development at WoodGreen.
Mwarigha is currently Chair of Homeless Connect Toronto and a Board member of Ephraim's Place – a community-based organization in the Jane Finch neighbourhood. He is also a member of the Black North Initiative’s Housing Committee.
Aaron has almost 20 years of experience in the development industry and consults for many major builders on projects across Canada. He holds a degree from the University of Windsor in Urban Planning, and is a full member of both the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), and has the designation of Registered Professional Planner (RPP) in the Province of Ontario.
Isaac brings his long history of philanthropy and experience in the real estate, development, and finance industries to the board. He serves on the board of directors for Sick Kids Foundation as well as the Advisory Council for TMU Real Estate Management. He is President of Dream Fund Holdings and the co-founder of Dream Legacy Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that aims to provide support and opportunities to Black communities across Canada. He is also a member of the BNI Homeownership Bridge Program Steering Committee.
Colleen has spent the past two decades immersing herself in the not-for-profit world and serving at-risk communities. She has experience both as an housing and as an addictions counsellor. She is currently the COO of Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Toronto, and serves on the board of Fife House and the AIDS Committee of Durham Region. Colleen brings her deep sense of empathy and understanding of what tools best help at-risk communities to her position on the board.
Joe is a development industry expert who is well versed with the City of Toronto Act, Ontario Planning Act, Building Code, Residential Tenancies Act and Non-profit Housing financing from Infrastructure Ontario. He is a former member of the board of directors for WoodGreen Community Services. He is the co-founder and principal at Trillium Housing, a non-profit that specializes in accessing
the Ontario Surplus Land Registry for Non –profits and has over
7 Affordable ownership housing projects under development.
Andrew has dedicated his 20 year+ executive career to leading the strategy, origination, leasing, portfolio management, and financial success of over $8B in commercial new build real estate developments across Canada, US, & Mexico, that outperformed public service pension benchmarks. In his prior experience as a senior leader with Cadillac Fairview & IMCO, he has built several public & private sector CEO/Senior-level relationships, from serving on private equity board advisory committees, government projects, and not-for-profits.
Andrew is deeply committed to community involvement, serving as a Board Trustee at the University of Guelph, nominated to the non-partisan Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force, and participating in committees such as the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Sherry is a philanthropist and real estate developer who runs one of the only female founded development firms in Canada. In 2019 in partnership with Urban Capital she co-developed the first all-female development project in Canada. She currently sits on the board of the Humber River Hospital Foundation and the Aria Foundation. She is also a member of the BNI Homeownership Steering Committee, the Veterans for Canada Fundraising Cabinet, and the University of Toronto (REAC) Real Estate Advisory Committee.
